Team Mexico - March 2013
In spring 2013, Team Mexico implemented pressure transducers and data loggers to provide water tank level information to a data logger display at the pump house by radio signal. Water quality analysis was done at points throughout the distribution network, at various wells, and at the river. This again confirmed arsenic and Coliform Bacteria concerns.
Soldering parts for the wireless system
The team decided that the best solution would be to teach the community to build and maintain biosand filters. The group installed a wireless water level monitoring system and constructed two prototype concrete biosand filters. In addition, they monitored the dry latrines, biosand filters, and water quality.
