For the 2009 -2010 year:
We are working with the Chijnaya community in the south part of Peru. The community has a cheese plant to generate some revenue for money. they get their milk for the cheese form the live stock they have. Currently they are having a hard time getting water form the canal to their fields. The potable water system needs some work done also. Such as source protection, possibly finding a second source of water for the dry season, and many other improvements are being considered.
With are arms linked with professional engineers and the faculty members here at USU, we are working with the community to help educate and resolve such problems to better their lives and be self reliant.
